Malaga excels in tradition when it comes to restaurants, but finding a buzzing, contemporary one can be tricky. Last night, however, we found found ourselves at @restaurantekaleja and loved it. Friendly - yet at times somewhat tumultuous - front of house service, modern takes on classic Andalusian dishes done over hot embers and the best table right inside the kitchen. Highlights of the 16 servings were an opening pork fritter with sherry on the side, pickled leek preserve with chicken wing fat, anemone in bone marrow soup and red pepper cooked for 24 hours.
